Affiliate Disclosure: I freakin' LOVE sharing things that make my life and business easier and better that I think might help you too. So, if you see links on this page, they may be affiliate links and give me a little abundance boost (aka. kombucha and matcha money). But I only recommend products I'm obsessed with and use myself. This might surprise you, but I believe that you can build an authentic soul-led brand and still use AI like Jasper or ChatGPT. 🤯

Yup — at this point, I'm 10000% an AI Optimist.  I believe in a future that is integrated; where humans & robots are in a symbiotic relationship. 🤖👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨🌱

In this blog, I'm gonna share with you 5 ways to use AI without sacrificing what makes you YOU.

But first, I wanna share WHY I'm unbelievably grateful for AI at this point in my life and career...

Something you may not know about me is I struggle with a condition called PMDD. It stands for pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder. It's classified as a disability in some countries.

(Basically, it's like PMS on steroids, but the extreme psychological and physical symptoms are so severe that they interfere with daily activities, mental capabilities, and relationships.)

It's not an easy thing to talk about, but I wanted to share this with you because AI has played a huge role in helping me sustain my livelihood with this condition.🙏

With the help of AI, I've been able to deliver copy to my clients on strict deadlines when my PMDD symptoms are at their worst and I felt like I couldn't even form a coherent sentence.

I know it's not just me who struggles with chronic health challenges, especially among female entrepreneurs. 🤹 We juggle so much and sometimes our bodies and hormones don't align with what needs to get done in our lives and businesses to function and thrive.

And what I've learned from this condition, is that it's okay to receive support. It's okay to get help. It's okay to not have to do it all alone. It’s okay to rest. It's okay to not have to be "on" all the time or performing at our best.

If there's one thing I've learned from working with high-level brands, is that they hire me as a copywriter because they know they can't do it all alone either.

We all need help sometimes. There's no shame in outsourcing.

AI makes it easy for YOU to get that help at a fraction of the cost (less than $40 a month to be exact; compared to hiring a human for $1000's).💸

With AI, you can have the robots draft up version 1 and do the heavy lifting for you 🤖  while you focus on building relationships, serving clients, and sharing what makes you and your brand one-of-a-kind.

So how exactly can coaches, creatives, and soul-led entrepreneurs use AI without losing their authentic voice?

Here are 5 tips to get you started:

1. Create a strong brand foundation

Before incorporating AI into your brand, make sure you have a clear understanding of your ideal client, values, mission, and voice.

This will serve as a guide when editing AI-generated content (hint: this is part of your "brand strategy"... and a robot can’t decide this for you).

2. Use AI for brainstorming and generating ideas

One of the biggest struggles for any creative is coming up with fresh and original ideas.

With AI writing assistants, you can input keywords or phrases related to your topic and get a list of suggestions that can spark your creative flow — then away you goooo!

3. Let AI help with grammar and spelling

As much as we strive for perfection, typos and errors happen (even for me, a professional writer).

And let's be real, proofreading isn't always the most exciting task.

With AI tools, you can ensure that your content is error-free while saving time and energy (I personally enjoy using Grammarly for this).

4. Add your personal stories

AI can generate content based on internet data, but it can't share the LIVED experience in your heart and soul.

These human anecdotes are what make you magnetic to the right people; we connect with each other through stories

AI can help you with storytelling frameworks, but it can't know the details unless you tell it (for example, I added my story about PMDD into this article and AI couldn't have known that about me).

5. Be transparent about using AI

I believe there's nothing wrong with incorporating AI into your brand as long as you are transparent about it (because when we're transparent, we're being authentic, riiiiiight?!).

Let your audience know you use AI in your creative process and be open to discussing how you use it if people have questions. Some people may judge you, but your way of being and doing things isn’t for everyone. It’s okay to repel people who don’t align with your values or don’t understand you.

I know that as a professional copywriter, there will be people who judge me for using it, but then other brands who are hungry for someone like me who has this skill set. So you do you, and you'll find the people who value you.

I hope these AI copywriting tips help!

Remember, AI is a tool to enhance your authentic creativity and productivity, not replace it.

Technology doesn't have to mean losing your authenticity.

With love & AI tips,

Amy xo

PS. Are you using AI yet? If not, I highly recommend the one I use: it’s called Jasper. I was invited to be one of the first 1000 early adopters before it became available to the public (about 2.5 years ago). This means I've had some time to experiment with AI and see its benefits and limitations. Out of the half a dozen or so that I've tried, it's been my favourite long-term.
